After the spinal cord injury from a diving accident forcing a dramatic change in his life path, Mark Cameron was invited to speak with students at a local Middle School in Olathe. Mark chose to speak of how he found through his recovery the tremendous value of the friendships that he has made throughout his life. He challenges the students of what it truly means to be a good person and reminds them to surround themselves with good people.

 

Mark has been invited back every year since then. He believes it is important to speak to the eighth-graders as they are the class looking at the biggest change in their lives as they are getting ready for their move to high school. Heading into the warmer months he finds it important to leave them with something to think about as far as diving awareness and emphasizes making good choices in life.

Mark hopes you consider affording the opportunity to share his story. He feels it would be powerful for him to impart some of his education of life in a wheelchair as well as the importance of making good choices, good friends and the lasting impression it has had on his life.

The presentation makes an impact – both in words and visually. Mark believes that if you shared one hour; 40 minutes of time for to share his story and 15-20 minutes of time to interact with questions from the audience he will leave everyone with much to think about.
